What is the difference between new media and old media?

Old media is static, it's often one-sided communication. Often we think of old media as anything in print, newspapers, magazine, etc. Television or television news as well, although new media and old media often intertwine with this. We are often shown old media through new media. Through the use of podcats, video uploads, youtube, hulu, we can watch old episodes of shows and old news reports online, we can search old newspaper archives when they were only available in print, online through new media. Basically, they can converge and intertwine. But mostly when we think of new media we think of the internet, videos, blogs, anything that offers communication to, from, and between users.
