My Term Research Projec t

For my term research project, titled New Media: Making or Breaking Journalism?, I'll be researching and discussing the effects of new media on old media, specifically focusing on the field of journalism. Journalism used to be far more exclusive. Those with the power to seek out and report the news had degrees, experience, and often exclusive access. Now, with sites such as Youtube.com, IReport.com, and blogging tools anyone can become a journalist. It is so easy to access news from all over the world with the click of a button. Video journalism has made it possible for people to see and report on their own almost immediately. It's extremely powerful. Although all of this does seem pretty awesome, it can have it's negative effects. For example, how do we know who to trust, what people's sources are, and how to detect false news? What is new media doing to journalism as we knew it? These are all topics I will look into in my research paper. How you all enjoy it!
